Agartsin

Medieval monastery in Armenia, in 14 kms from the city of Dilizhan, on a slope of gorge of the river Agartsin (basin of river Kurah). Founded in XI century. Were kept: church of Grigor (XI century), the main church of monastery Astvatatsin (XI-XIII centuries), church of Stepanos (XIII century), vestibule-gavit (the end XII - beginning of XIII century), refectory (1248, architect Minas) - one of the best samples of medieval secular architecture of Armenia, a chapel, a khatchkarah.
