KChR's MoJ files lawsuit on liquidation of "Adyge-Khase"

On March 10, the Supreme Court (SC) of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR), held a preliminary session on the lawsuit of the Department for the KChR of Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) on liquidation of the republic's movement "Adyge-Khase – Circassian Parliament".

The lawsuit states that the movement violates the Russian legislation; and its activities get beyond the scope of its charter.

According to Zaur Botashev, the head of the Division for Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) of the Department for the KChR of the Russian MoJ, the movement has failed to eliminate violations and present the supporting documents by February 22.

Besides, according to the Department, "the chairman of the movement fails to fulfil his duties under the charter, and is engaged in public performances only."

Mukhamed Cherkesov, the head of the movement, has emphasized that each time they reacted to the MoJ's remarks and fulfilled all the demands.

Cherkesov has offered to settle the dispute by concluding an amicable agreement and moved a petition to repeatedly submit all the documents earlier requested by the MoJ.

The next court session will be held on March 16.

The attempts to liquidate the "Adyge-Khase – Circassian Parliament" of the KChR are politically motivated, said Ali Aslanov, the chairman of the Association "Business Cherkessia".
