Dargavs

Mountain settlement in the Suburb of Northern Ossetia - Alania, on the river Gizel'don.

In Dargavs some medieval defensive works, including multi-storey fighting towers, were kept. Besides, in Dargavs there is a unique ancient cemetery ("small town of dead men") - a complex from 99 overground (XIV-XVIII centuries) and half-underground (IX-XVII centuries) stone crypts resembling towers, used for family tombs. In Darvas environs - archeologic monuments from epoch of bronze up to late Middle Ages. Nearby from settlement - sentry family tower of Mamsurovs (height over 15 meters; the highest in Northern Ossetia).
