In Grozny, law enforcers seize information carriers from journalists

All video and photo materials, collected by Olga Pavlova, Konstantin Solomatin, and Iida Tikka during three days of their activities in Chechnya, were destroyed by Chechen law enforcers in the course of the detention of the journalists.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 19, Olga Pavlova, a "Caucasian Policy" correspondent, Konstantin Solomatin, a Moscow photojournalist, and Iida Tikka, a Finnish journalist, were detained in Grozny. The law enforcers explained the detention of the journalists by the incoming information on the preparation of an illegal report.

According to a source, prior to their arrival in Grozny, in Moscow, the journalists have met opposition politician Ilya Yashin, who is working on a report about Ramzan Kadyrov.

Photojournalist Konstantin Solomatin stays in Chechnya, where he continues to his work, reports Kheda Saratova, a Chechen rights defender.

In 2015, Iida Tikka went to Russia as a representative of the Finnish media: in particular, the "MTV" Channel and the news agency "STT". In December 2015, she gave an interview to the "AfishaDaily", in which she, in particular, spoke about her visit to the opposition rallies and about the problem of discrimination against women in Russia.

Olga (Leila) Pavlova works for the "Caucasian Policy" as a special correspondent in Chechnya. The edition publishes articles describing the problems of Chechen residents and articles complementary to the current government.
