Ingushetia: court on Tangieva's lawsuit attracts investigator as third party

Khava Tangieva, a resident of Ingushetia, who lost her child in the hospital of Malgobek, is trying to adjudge compensation of the damage caused to her health. At the first session, the court decided to summon the investigator, who had run the inquiry into the events at the hospital, as the third party, and demanded to ensure the appearance of doctors.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 11, 2010, Khava Tangieva got into the Malgobek Central City Hospital No. 1. Doctors made a Caesarean section, but the baby died. A few days later, Tangieva was told that she needed a new surgery, because some infection was brought to her body. After the surgery, Tangieva lost the ability to have children; and her husband divorced with her.

The circumstances of her child delivery were investigated under the article of causing grievous bodily harm by negligence, although her family had insisted to qualify doctors' actions as causing death by negligence. Boris Evloev, Khava's father has stated that the investigation was unreasonably protracted; and the documents, needed for the inquiry, somehow disappeared from the hospital.

Late in 2015, Tangieva lodged a civil lawsuit against the hospital to the court, demanding to compensate the harm caused to her health; this was reported by Magomed Mutsolgov, the head of the human rights organization MASHR, in his blog that he runs on the "Caucasian Knot".

The materials of the case and the medical records reported about removing two internal organs. The appointed medical examinations were held without the participation of Tangieva, and only after examination in 2013, she learned that five organs had been removed from her body, writes Mutsolgov.
