North-Ossetian authorities plan to double rent for agricultural land
The proceeds to the budget from rent payments for land owned by North Ossetia are to rise from 15 million up to 30 million roubles per year. This was reported by the Minister of State Property and Land Relations of North Ossetia. Farmers believe that the rent increase will lead to unprofitability of agricultural products.
On December 11, the meeting chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister Taimuraz Tuskaev discussed the issues related to the collection of rent payments for agricultural lands.
Ruslan Tedeev, North-Ossetian Minister of State Property and Land Relations, has emphasized that the discussion concerned the rent of agricultural lands, pastures, buildings, and water bodies.
At the meeting, the Minister has recalled the audience that North Ossetia has 180,000 hectares of land, and of them, only 35,000 hectares are run by the republican government, and the rest land is controlled by municipalities.
According to Ruslan Tedeev, starting from January 1, 2016, the rent payments for arable land, owned by the republic, will increase by two times.
On November 24, the North-Ossetian MPs decided to tighten the control over the income in the agricultural sector in order to increase proceeds to the budget of North Ossetia. Besides, the North-Ossetian MPs have proposed to increase tax revenues from the transport sector.
