Volgograd: seven persons come out in defence of Article 31 of Constitution

The picket in defence of the Article 31 of the Russian Constitution in Volgograd voiced out slogans demanding to release political prisoners and ensure turnover of power.

Article 31 of the Constitution stipulates: "Citizens of the Russian Federation shall have the right to assemble peacefully, without weapons, hold rallies, meetings and demonstrations, marches and pickets."

The today's event was held in Lenin Square during two hours, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Picketers held posters with slogans "Release prisoners of Bolotnaya Square and political prisoners!", "We have Putin – no need of brains!", "Judges and prosecutors, observe provisions of Russian Constitution!" and "For turnover of power!", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The action was agreed with the authorities for 15 persons; in total, seven activists took part in it, Anatoly Eldyrkin, the organizer of the picket and the secretary of the Volgograd branch of the "Party of People's Freedom", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
