Man shot dead in shootout in Dagestan

In the Buynaksk District, during a shootout, an unidentified man, who opened fire at policemen, was shot dead, said a local law enforcement source.

According to his story, a police squad was patrolling one of the abandoned farms of the Buynaksk District and saw a man with a knapsack.

"Law enforcers wanted to see who he was. Having seen the approaching policemen, he started running away and then opened fire. He was neutralized by response fire," the RIA "Dagestan" quotes the source as saying.

The "AiF-Dagestan" adds that in the place of the shootout that occurred in the evening on September 7, policemen found a Makarov pistol, cartridge cases of 9 mm calibre and a knapsack with foodstuffs and medicines.
