Dagestani power specialists extend supply restrictions until September 23

The restrictions on electricity supplies to consumers in the mountainous regions of Dagestan will be in force until September 23, said the spokesman of the "Dagestani Grid Company". Earlier, they planned that restrictions would last until September 21, 2015.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since August 18 the electricity supply to the Tlyaratin, Tsuntin and Shamil District of Dagestan, as well as to a number of settlements of the Bezhtin District, was performed under the schedule "two days of supply and two days of outage". The restrictions were imposed in connection with the drilling and blasting works at reconstruction of the Gunib-Vantlyashevsky Pass highway.

The electricity outages in mountainous districts of the republic will continue until September 23, said Gurizada Kamalova, the press secretary of the "Dagestani Grid Company". According to her story, in general, "the repair works go under the schedule."

Local residents hope that the repair works "will be completed on time, because they create a lot of inconveniences," said Rukizhat Gamzatova, a resident of one of the settlements of the Bezhtin District.

"Two days without power – it's quite a lot. People need cooking and laundry. In fact, we were not warned in advance about outages," she said.

According to Murtuz Isaev, a resident of the Tlyaratin District of Dagestan, residents of the district "treat the outages with understanding."
