"Rosavtodor" boss promises not to demolish dwelling houses at building Kerch Bridge

Private households of residents of Krasnodar Territory will not be affected during the construction of access roads to the bridge across the Kerch Strait, said Roman Starovoit, the head of the Russian Federal Road Agency ("Rosavtodor").

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 19, 2014, the Russian government adopted a resolution on making a feasibility study for the construction of a bridge linking the Krasnodar Territory and the Crimea. The bridge is scheduled to be commissioned on June 30, 2019.

On August 5, the head of the "Rosavtodor" assured that none of the inhabitants of the Krasnodar Territory (also called "Kuban" by the name of its main river) will suffer any damage from the construction of the new bridge.

"At the moment, we have no information that any farm or residential building should be demolished in the Krasnodar Territory because of the construction of the bridge," the "Gazeta.ru" quotes Roman Starovoit as saying.

According to his story, the construction project was designed to ensure that the motor and railway routes "minimally touch the existing dwelling settlements" and bypass, as much as possible, the sites of historical and cultural heritage.
