Lawyers challenge arrest extension of three natives of Chechnya accused of attempting on MfE employees

The Moscow City Court (MCC) has accepted a complaint against the arrest extension, lodged by the defence of the Chechen residents suspected of assaulting the employees of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) in Moscow, said the advocates.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the above Chechens were detained after the incident in the Moscow settlement of Vnukovo on September 21. According to investigators, the defendants made an armed attack on MfE employees. On December 17, the MCC reduced the arrest of the three natives of Chechnya by two months, that is, until January 22.

In its turn, on January 20, the Dorogomilovo District Court of Moscow extended their arrest until March 22.

On January 26, the advocates Tatiana Okushko and Nikolai Dyakov appealed against the last decision of the court.

According to the appeal complaint, the advocates at the trial filed numerous motions about adding the evidence of the alibi of Said-Magomed Tsetiev, Hussein Tsetiev and Khamid Rajapov to the case files, and "the complaints addressed to the head of the investigative body, confirming the red-tape behaviour of the investigator who ran the criminal case."

According to the defence, the court failed "to examine all the presented materials" at the trial.
