"Christmas Tree" festivity held in Grozny

On the occasion of the Orthodox Christmas, the Chechen capital organized a "Christmas Tree" festivity for children of Orthodox families.

"On January 8, on the occasion of the Orthodox Christmas holiday, Grozny hosted a Christmas party for children. The festivity in the House of Radio was attended by children from Grozny and the Shelkovskoy and Naur Districts, which have Orthodox parishes," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the Ministry of National Policy, Press and Information of Chechnya.

The Chechen State Youth Theatre has staged a performance featuring fairy tale heroes; and the festivity ended with a concert of variety performers. All the children received holiday gifts.

The first in many years Orthodox "Christmas Tree" was organized in Grozny in 2013 in the Russian Drama Theatre named after Russia poet Miсhael Lermontov. Children from all over the republic were invited to the festivity.
