In Chechnya, Kutaev's defence demands to examine photos of the accident scene
Today, within the consideration of the appeal complaint against the sentence to Ruslan Kutaev, the President of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations, at the Supreme Court of Chechnya, his defence has stated the need to examine the photos made at studying the scene of the crime.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 7 Kutaev was sentenced to four years of freedom deprivation, although he insisted on his innocence.
The "Caucasian Knot" has prepared a note entitled "Ruslan Kutaev's Case: Chronology and Details" about the criminal prosecution of Ruslan Kutaev.
During the today's session, the judge has read out the inspection protocol of the scene, which indicated that the inspection was conducted in clear weather and at natural illumination. However, Pyotr Zaikin, Ruslan Kutaev's advocate, has noted, in his turn, that there is a significant difference between the weather conditions as described in the protocol and what can be seen in the photos: cloudy weather, and no shadows. He has filed a motion demanding to appoint a forensic and technical examination of the photos attached to the inspection protocol.
Ruslan Kutaev has also confirmed to the court that the above inspection of the scene took place not on the sunny afternoon on February 20, but on the cloudy February 21.
The next session is scheduled for October 28; and it is assumed that a decision on the above motion of Ruslan Kutaev's advocate will be announced.
