Medical examination finds Pavlyuchenkov healthy enough to serve his term in colony

A medical examination has concluded that Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov, sentenced in the case of the murder of Anna Politkovskaya, an observer of the "Novaya Gazeta", is healthy enough to serve his sentence, said Karina Moskalenko and Anna Stavitskaya, representatives of the victim party, at the Moscow City Court (MCC).

Let us remind you that on December 14, 2012, the MCC sentenced a former militiaman Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov to 11 years of imprisonment for involvement in the murder of the journalist. On June 3, 2014, it was reported that his advocate petitioned to the MCC about postponement of the punishment, because Pavlyuchenkov was kept at the medical unit of SIZO No. 6 (pre-trial prison). The consideration of the petition was repeatedly postponed.

According to the results of the medical examination, Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov was not diagnosed with any of diseases from the list preventing bringing convicted persons to a penal colony to serve a sentence, representatives of the victim party report.

Karen Nersisyan, the advocate of the former militiaman, informed the court that on other days, his client suffered from an epileptic seizure. This was also confirmed by Judge Elena Vyrysheva, who read out a letter from the SIZO.
