Russian special operations soldiers accused of murdering civilians in Chechnya, jury to return verdict

The trial in the case of the Russian special operations group members of which are accused of murdering civilians in Chechnya is under way in Rostov-on-Don. Today, the jury is to return a verdict. According to the investigators, three special operations soldiers under command of Captain Eduard Ulman shot down a UAZ car which had disobeyed their order to stop. There were six locals in the car. The incident occurred in January 2002 in the Shatoy district of Chechnya. The defendants insist on their innocence.
