Native of Chechnya suspected of killing power agents extradited to Russia from Slovakia

Slovakia has rendered to Russia Anzor Chentiev, a native of Chechnya, who is suspected of killing two OMON (riot police) agents in Grozny in 2001 and a number of other crimes.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2006 Chentiev asked human rights organizations to assist him in connection with his detention in the territory of Slovakia after the latter received an extradition request from the Russian Federation. He also applied for a refugee status in Slovakia, but was denied.

After nearly eight years of consideration of Chentiev's extradition case by the competent authorities of the SlovakRepublic, in May 2014 the Minister of Justice of Slovakia issued a final decision to satisfy the request of the Russian Federation.

Following the delivery of Anzor Chentiev to investigator of the Investigating Department (ID) for Chechnya of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), he will be charged with banditry, assault on law enforcers, robbery and theft of firearms, the website of the ICRF wrote on July 6.
