Azerbaijan: activist of "Musavat" Party is charged with using violence against police
In Azerbaijan, upon the expiration of his administrative arrest, Orkhan Eyubzade, an activist of the "Musavat" Party, was brought to criminal responsibility. The activist is accused of using violence against the police.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Baku, five participants of the protest action held on May 6 against the verdict of guilty against eight activists of the movement "Nida", including Orkhan Eyubzade, were sentenced to 15-20 days of administrative arrests on charges of disobeying police. Orkhan Eyubzade was sentenced to 20 days of arrest.
On May 26, the term of his arrest expired. However, the young man was not released. On May 27, the Binagadi Court pronounced the pre-trial restriction measure against Orkhan Eyubzade in the form of arrest for a period of one month. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by advocate Asabali Mustafaev.
Advocate Mustafaev has claimed the activist is being prosecuted for political motives. According to the advocate, investigators have failed to present any primary evidence of the Orkhan Eyubzade's guilt.
