Bad weather in Adzharia damages 25 houses

As a result of the hurricane, 25 houses got damaged in Adzharia, said Mamuka Turmanidze, the head of the Agency for Emergencies and Urgent Situations of the Autonomy; and local authorities have added that strong winds and rains that hit the East of Georgia killed hundreds of domestic animals. No human injuries have been reported.

As explained by Mamuka Turmanidze, on Saturday, the cities of Batumi, Kobuleti, Gonio, Khelvachauri and Ureki were hit by a hurricane that tore roofs off from 25 houses. The greatest damage was caused to the refrigeration and storage facility, where the newly-repaired roof was blown off by the hurricane.

Besides, in Batumi, in David Agmashenebeli Street, a part of the smashed roof fell on the car. In the coastal area, two observation points were damaged, the "InterpressNews" reports citing the above Mamuka Turmanidze.

In some dwelling settlements, power lines were damaged; and repair teams are trying to fix them. Heavy rains flooded thousands of hectares of agricultural fields; and the bad weather killed hundreds of livestock and poultry heads, the ITAR-TASS reports.
