Picket of defrauded investors held in Krasnodar
On April 19, the city of Krasnodar hosted a picket of defrauded investors of the construction company "Rodina" (Homeland), which was coordinated with the city authorities. The action was attended by over 100 people, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
"Since 2011, some 700 families have been investing their money into the above 'Rodina', which was building 10 houses of the Housing Cooperative 'Metropolitan Park' in Krasnodar. The venture caused criticism of local authorities," said Anton Polyakov, one of the organizers of the picket.
According to his version, the city administration filed a lawsuit on demolition of the houses, after which the construction was suspended. The construction and technical examination of the disputed houses stated that all the building and other rules had been observed. Despite this, the courts have ruled to demolish the houses by disregarding the investors' opinion.
"As a result, ordinary people will suffer, who are not keen in the intricacies of law and who invested their savings into the construction aiming to solve their housing problems – that's about 2000 people. Among them, there are young families with small children, people with disabilities and pensioners," said Polyakov.
Let us remind you that in June 2013 a picket was held near the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Tsentralny District of Krasnodar, whose participants accused the police of inaction while investigating frauds in shared construction.
