Prosecutor's Office: case against CORN sent to court
The criminal case against members of the "Combat Organization of Russian Nationalists" (CORN), accused of involvement in crimes motivated by ethnic hatred and, in particular, the murder of Muslim Abdulaev, a resident of Dagestan, Judge Eduard Chuvashov, and advocate Stanislav Markelov, were sent to the court. This was reported by the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), depending on the alleged role in the CORN's activities, defendants involved in the case are charged with creating an extremist grouping, murder, assault on life of a law enforcement officer, acts of banditry, and arms trafficking.
Investigators believe that the organization created in 2008 in Moscow was a stable extremist community. This was reported by an ICRF's official. "Its purpose was to kill citizens for reasons of ideological and national hatred and hostility, to commit attacks on law enforcement officers in revenge for their legitimate activities, and other offenses," the ITAR-TASS quotes the ICRF's official as saying.
