Volgograd hosts solo pickets against verdict on "Bolotnaya case"

On February 24, Volgograd was the venue of a series of solo pickets against the verdict in the so-called "Bolotnaya case", Boris Stikhin, an activist of the International Union of Anarchists, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The pickets were held in the Alley of Heroes, near the metro-tram station "Komsomolskaya" and near the Gorky Library, said Stikhin. The action was organized by three picketers, who held posters with activists' portraits and inscriptions: "Artyom Savelyev, 34 years old; painfully grabbed by arm – 2 years and 7 months of colony", "Yaroslav Belousov, 22 years old; threw a lemon – 2 years and 6 months of colony", "Andrei Barabanov, 23 years old; bit the OMON fighter's vest – 3 years and 7 months of colony", and others.

"The action was organized by members of the International Union of Anarchists, the Left-Wing Front and sympathizers," said Stikhin. "I think that the 'Bolotnaya case' is just the beginning; and we'll see further tightening of measures against the opposition," said the anarchist.
