OC "Sochi 2014" sold nearly million tickets to Olympic events
To date, the spectators of the Winter Olympics in Sochi have bought 925,000 tickets, said Dmitry Perlin, the ticketing programme director of the Organizing Committee (OC) "Sochi-2014". Empty seats during competitions are filled in by volunteers, said Alexandra Kosterina, the spokesperson of the OC.
Tickets for the Olympic competitions can be freely bought at ticket offices of the Olympic Park in the Coastal Cluster and in the ticket offices located in the Mountain Cluster and at the railway station of Sochi. The main ticket centre in Moscow is still working either.
According to Dmitry Perlin, the OC has taken, jointly with law enforcement authorities, unprecedented measures to combat resellers.
However, according to the "Interfax", the locals claim that at the railway station of Sochi resellers are met ready to sell tickets to the games of the Russian hockey team for up to 150,000 roubles.
At the same time, the OC "Sochi-2014" has admitted that some events of the Olympic programme face the problem of empty stands. In this regard, the OC has offered volunteers to fill in empty seats at the stands.
Let us note here that earlier some Russians were denied access to Olympic venues.
