Circassians who came to the Olympics do not represent Circassian Diaspora, activists say

Representatives of Circassian organizations claim that the Circassians who have come to the Olympic Games in Sochi from abroad cannot represent the Circassian Diaspora and will be attending the Games as individuals. The International Movement "Patriots of Circassia" has urged them to listen to the opinion of the Circassian community.

Let us remind you that most of the delegation consisting of 26 foreign Circassians arrived on February 5 in Sochi to participate in the opening ceremony of the Olympics. All of them are members of the Association of Foreign Alumni and Friends of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University (KBSU).

"Russia, which failed to get support from any organization of the Circassian Diaspora, has presented the parents of students and former graduates of the KBSU as representatives of the Circassian Diaspora, willing to fabricate the international public opinion," says the statement of the "Patriots of Circassia".

And now, according to activists of the movement, Russia again "plays a game, having invited those students' parents to the Games' opening ceremony."

The International Movement "Patriots of Circassia" has appealed to the foreign Circassians invited to the Olympics, to refuse from the invitation to attend the Olympics.
