In Chechnya, 70 orphans receive housing in Grozny

On November 27, 70 orphans received keys from apartments in one of the new buildings in Grozny. This was announced by an official from the Ministry of Labour of Chechnya. According to him, till the end of the year, the Ministry plans to provide other 70 persons with their own housing.

In Chechnya, people, left without parental care, are provided with housing under the federal law on the social support of orphaned children. 80% of the funds for those purposes are allocated from the republic's budget, and 20% from the federal budget.

"In our republic, only during the recent four years, about 500 persons from that category of citizens were provided with their own housing," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by the official from the Ministry of Labour of Chechnya.

He has added that during the recent two years, the republic's authorities allocated more than 200 million roubles for purchasing apartments for orphaned children.

According to the Ministry of Labour, at present, the republic has to allocate social housing to more than 600 orphans. In total, Chechnya has 1300 orphans and more than 25,000 half-orphans.
