In Dagestan, head of Kayakent District faces new charges of fraud with funds intended for orphans

In September 2011, the head of the Kayakent District of Dagestan included knowingly false information in the financial documents to allocate funds to buy housing for orphans and children without parental care. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan.

Let us remind you that on 6 June, Ilmutdin Gamzaev, the head of the Kayakent District, was detained on suspicion of abuse of power and forgery.

Ilmutdin Gamzaev is accused of fraud in the implementation of the housing programme for orphans. The funds for the purchase of housing were allocated from the republic's and federal budgets. The head of the district misused his official power, when, in September 2011, he included in the documents the knowingly false information about granting the housing to a resident of the village of Kayakent, born in 1986. This was reported by the website of the Dagestani MIA.

On March 13, 2011, Ilmutdin Gamzaev was elected the head of the Kayakent District. At the election for the position of the head of the district, he was a self-nominee. Earlier, Ilmutdin Gamzaev already held the same position in 1990-1997.
