Dagestan resident complains about investigators' inaction in the case of his daughter's raping

In Dagestan, Magomednabi Nazhmutdinov, a resident of the village of Karabudakhkent, has stated that investigators do nothing to inquire into the case of sexual abuse of his minor daughter. The Investigating Committee has replied that the case will soon go to the court.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 26, 2012, Magomednabi Nazhmutdinov submitted his application to the Karabudakhkent ROVD (District Interior Division) that his daughter had been raped. Later, he said that investigators refused to open a criminal case.

The father has added that on August 16 the case was transferred to Makhachkala, to Magomedzapir Daudov, the acting head of the 2nd division for especially important cases of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

"Daudov said there were no grounds to arrest the suspects; and evidence should be gathered," said Nazhmutdinov, sharing his view that in this way the investigator tries to protract the inquiry.

At the moment, the girl is taking her treatment at the clinic of neurosis in Moscow. On June 25 last year, she tried to commit suicide.

Sapiyat Magomedova, the victim's lawyer, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she was preparing a complaint about investigators' inaction.
