Armenian authorities call benefactors to help in building housing for Syrian Armenians

The Armenian Ministry of Diaspora has invited philanthropists to help in building the district "New Aleppo".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in June the Government of Armenia approved the programme of promoting the construction of the dwelling district "New Aleppo" in the city of Ashtarak of the Aragatsotn Region. The Public Organization "Coordination Centre for Syrian Armenians" was allotted a land plot of 4.8 hectares in Ashtarak for development.

The district "New Aleppo" is intended for the Armenian refugees from Syria who live today in Armenia.

According to the latest data of the Ministry of Diaspora, in total 10,000 compatriots have returned to their historic homeland from Syria, the "News-Armenia" reported on August 16.

The Ministry adds that any contribution from any donator will be welcomed.

Let us remind you that the Armenian Diaspora faced problems because of the warfare in Syria. The authorities of the Kashatag District of Nagorno-Karabakh declared their readiness to take in all the Syrian Armenians wishing to move there.
