Fral Shebzukhov’s relatives in Karachay-Cherkessia will appeal against the verdict on the case of his murder
Relatives of Counsellor of Head of KCR Fral Shebzukhov are going to appeal against the verdict on the case of his murder in 2010, the sufferers’ attorney Rusaln Shifadugov reported.
Today the Supreme Court of Karachay-Cherkessia brought a verdict on the case of murder of Counsellor of ex-Head of the republic Fral Shebzukhov. Defendants Magomet Djubuev, Nazim Kusheterov, Alik Totorkulov and Sultan Djankezov were sentenced to custody terms of 14 to 19 years in a strict regime colony.
The sufferers’ attorney Rusaln Shifadugov told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent that his clients were going to file an appeal.
”In our opinion, the punishment disagrees with the gravity of the crime. My clients asked the court for life imprisonment to three defendants. We asked the court not to take into account their surrender as an attenuating circumstance. In fact, they did not help detection of the crime in any way. They denied their initial confessionary statements and did not acknowledge their guilt in court or repent. On the contrary, they denigrated the investigative bodies stating that they underwent torture”, the attorney of Shebzukhov’s relatives explained.
“The defendants were not acquainted with the man they killed, it means that it was a contract murder. Until the paymaster is found we cannot consider the investigation accomplished”, Head of the organization “Adyge Khase” Muhammed Cherkesov declared.
