In Sochi, residents of burned house protest against their eviction from "Primorskaya" Hotel

Today, about 30 residents of the burned building located in No. 40 in Chebrikov Street 40 in Sochi held a protest action in front of the "Primorskaya" Hotel. Fire victims refused to leave the building and move to another hotel, and they also demanded to restore the burned building.

In the early morning of December 8, in Sochi, a multi-apartment building burst into flames.

According to the victims' story, this morning, the "Primorskaya" Hotel, which accommodated several families of fire victims, was visited by a representative of Sergey Pavlenko, Head of Administration of the Central District. He has said that people should immediately gather their belongings, leave the place and move to another hotel.

"We expressed our indignation about such an attitude. We are not things to be treated like that. Assistance was promised to us; however, we do not feel it. The burned roof has not been repaired yet. During the rains, water floods the rooms and we repair them by ourselves," said victim Antonina Agafonova.

Sergey Pavlenko, Head of the Administration of the Central District, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the authorities help fire victims in accordance with their capabilities.

"We help as we can. I do not issue instructions to hotels. The owner of the "Primorskaya" Hotel can no longer to keep the people there," Sergey Pavlenko said. He has emphasized that lodging of fire victims in hotels "are paid from the federal budget."
