Two natives of Chechnya are on the "Magnitsky List"

The US government has published the so-called "Magnitsky List" – the people banned from entering the United States; and their accounts in American banks are frozen. The list includes the natives of Chechnya Lecha Bogatyryov and Kazbek Dukuzov.

Lecha Bogatyryov is a figurant in the case of Umar Israilov, a native of Chechnya, who was shot dead in Vienna on January 13, 2009. According to investigators, Lecha was the executor of the murder.

Kazbek Dukuzov is a suspect in the murder case of the editor of the Russian version of the Forbes Magazine Paul Khlebnikov. In May 2006, he was acquitted; however, in November 2006 the acquittal was quashed, and a new inquiry was appointed.

In total, the list includes 18 people; it is posted on the website of the US Treasury. Note that only Bogatyryov and Dukuzov are not directly related to the death of Sergey Magnitsky on November 16, 2009, at the SIZO (pre-trial prison).

The 18 people on the list do not include Alexander Bastrykin, there is also the Chairman of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), and the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, mentioned in the draft version of the list, the "Echo Moskvy" reports.
