Residents of Novomikhailovskoye village suspend hunger strike

A hunger strike of a week's duration conducted by residents of the Novomikhailovskoye village in the Gulkevichsky district has been temporarily suspended, reported a source at the district administration. 14 people went on a hunger strike because they had not received housing in return of that lost in the flood of 2002. Some people have not been put on original lists for getting compensation. Houses of others have come to ruin already after they were rated as partially damaged. The local budget has no resources to help the hunger strikers. The head of the district administration declares the problems of these people should be solved on the federal level.
