UN raises concern about Russian authorities' intention to close all tent camps in Ingushetia by 1 March

The United Nations raises its concern about the intention of Russian authorities to close by 1 March all tent camps in Ingushetia, which are home to thousands of refugees form Chechnya. UN High Commissioner for Refugees Ruud Lubbers spoke about it while meeting with President of Ingushetia Murat Zyazikov in Geneva on 19 January. The United Nations believes that the principle of sanctuary as such is seriously compromised if refugees are forced to move out without being provided with another place to live.
