In Chechnya, managers of "Spetsstroi" fail to solve problem of wage arrears

In Chechnya, workers of the organization "Spetsstroi" receive no wages since last October, although the managers have repeatedly promised to resolve the problem, the workers of the organization state. The managers explain wage arrears by absence of funds at the organization's accounts.

"Last time we received wages in last September. Since that time, we see no money. The managers continually promise to solve the problem; however, there are no changes. We are explained that they cannot pay our money, since the money was not credited to the organization's account. We hardly believe in that, since for some reason the managers do not feel any inconveniences due to lack of money," says a worker of the "Spetsstroi", who preferred to remain anonymous.

According to the man, he, like many other workers of the company, would resign from his job if he has a slightest chance to find a job elsewhere.

"We have a huge rate of unemployment in out republic, and all managers benefit from that fact. If someone complains, he is told that he can leave and that his place will be always occupied by another worker. Of course, all people hang on to their positions and they are willing to wait their wages for months, since to find a new job is almost impossible," he believes.

Another worker of the "Spetsstroi" says that till present, the managers of the organization failed to solve the problem of payment of wages for May 2011.

A representative of the "Spetsstroi" told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the issue of payment of wages is under consideration. He explained the large arrears of wages by "lack of funds at the organization's accounts."
