In Dagestan, resident of Mutsalaul village claims her son was kidnapped by armed men

Today in the morning, Abdurakhman Djakaev, a resident of the village of Mutsalaul, Khasavyurt District of Dagestan, was taken away to some unknown place by armed men in camouflage. This was reported by his mother Patimat Djakaeva. The Khasavyurt ROVD (District Interior Division) said that they had no such a detainee.

At about 9:00 a.m. Moscow time, the Djakaevs' house was approached by 25-30 armed men in military machines; some of them were in camouflage. "They began knocking at the gate. When my husband Gusein opened the gate, they went straight to the summer kitchen under a shed, where our son Abdurakhman was sleeping. My husband and Abdurakhman were brought into the yard, and the armed men themselves without presenting any documents and without witnesses went to the kitchen. After a while, they came out and said that they had found a pistol," Patimat Djakaeva told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to her story, the power agents did not search other rooms. Then, they inspected the VAZ-2106 car, belonging to Gusein Djakaev, Patimat's husband, and, having found nothing in it, took away their son.

"Is that correct to conduct a search without presenting any documents and without witnesses? We generally cannot say for sure, who took our son. Moreover, if a person is taken to the police, there should be some reasons for that, but I don't see any reasons," says the woman.

According to the lawyer Sapiyat Magomedova, who was hired by relatives of Abdurakhman Djakaev, she and the man's relatives were told at the Khasavyurt ROVD that Abdurakhman had not been brought there.

Patimat Djakaeva has added that some policeman came out to them from the ROVD building. He, "without introducing himself, approached Gusein and demanded that he gave him the keys and the documents on his car. Later, the ROVD employees began referring to the fact that Abdurakhman had been taken by some 'Russians' and he was not at the ROVD."

"My son had no pistol, and I think that it was planted by the people, who took my son," said Patimat Djakaeva.

Abdurakhman's parents filed complaints to different authorities: the Prosecutor's Office, the Investigatory Committee, and human rights defenders, including the Human Rights Centre "Memorial". The relatives demand from the Prosecutor of the Khasavyurt District to react to unlawful actions of ROVD policemen, take measures to institute criminal proceedings against them for their abuse of power and to instruct the policemen to reveal the whereabouts of Abdurakhman Djakaev.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by the policemen from the on duty unit of the Khasavyurt ROVD that they "had no detainee with those name and surname."
