An action of protest passed off in Georgia during Saakashvili's speech in the Parliament
Reading out annual message of President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili to the supreme legislative body of the country was accompanied by an action of protest near the walls of the Parliament.
The "Caucasian Knot" reported that NGOs "Unemployed for the right of employment", "Refugees' civil movement", "Union of free associations" and Kakhi Kukava's oppositional party "Free Georgia" declared their intention to participate in the action.
During the President's speech on February, 28, the participants of the action were protesting with empty saucepans and punching them with spoons shouting that they were hungry. They protested against Saakashvili's speech and home and foreign policy pursued by the authorities, "Interfax" reports.
The participants of the action demand to return them to Abkhazia and Tskhinvali district and provide the refugees with dwellings. Besides, one of their main demands was withdrawal of Georgian troops from Afghanistan, GHN reports.
