Dagestan: policemen who failed to detain a criminal sacked
Four policemen, in whose eyes Abdullah Magomedov, a resident of the village of Tsekob, Shamil District of Dagestan, was shot dead in the Republic's Drug Treatment Clinic, have been fired for not attempting to detain the killer.
Relatives of the casualty wrote an appeal to the head of the republic Magomedsalam Magomedov asking him to personally address the crime, which, according to their version, happened with the connivance of some policemen.
On January 31, at his meeting with Tsekob villagers, Dagestani President instructed the Minister of Internal Affairs of Dagestan Abdurashid Magomedov to take all necessary steps to thoroughly investigate the crime.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has reported that the MIA of Dagestan had appointed a service check of the fact, which established that the policemen "in flagrant violation of discipline and their duties behaved negligently and failed to take measures to prevent the conflict."
"The members of the Certification Commission of the Department of the Russian MIA for Makhachkala have unanimously decided: for gross misconduct to dismiss the four policemen-participants of the conflict from the interior bodies," said a source from the MIA of Dagestan.
Besides, according to the MIA, a suspect of killing Abdullah Magomedov was established as Arslan Bayramalievich Ataev, a resident of Makhachkala. "He was put on the search list; his photo and personal details have been posted on the website of the Dagestani MIA; and a complex of measures in underway to detain him," concluded the source.
