Wife of Dagestani resident detained at CTO reports on unlawful acts of power agents

Two residents of the Derbent District of Dagestan were arrested during the special operation on suspicion of purchasing and possession of weapons. Meanwhile, the wife of one of the detainees claims that during the search, power agents beat her husband and seized weapon, which did not belong to him.

According to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, on February 19, officers from the Centre for Combating Extremism detained residents of the villages of Chinar and Tatlyar of the Derbent District of Dagestan.

According to the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), at the examination of the house and lot of Albert Guseinov, born in 1986, residing in the village of Chinar of the Derbent District, in a garage in a cardboard box, the officers found and seized a 200-gram TNT block and a cell phone with wires, to which a battery was attached with a tape.

Meanwhile, the wife of the detainee Albert Guseinov reports on unlawful acts of the power agents in conducting special operations.

"On February 19, at 5:30 a.m. we were awakened by a knock at the door. My husband went to open the door, there were people in masks. They forced my husband on the floor and began to go into different rooms, I was not even allowed to change my clothes, they began to search the rooms," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Zarema Gadjieva, the wife of Albert Guseinov.

According to the woman, when she asked them to introduce themselves and to present their documents, the masked men said they were not entitled to do that. "When I asked them who they were, they said that they were law enforcement officers; however, they said that they had no right to mention their names and present their documents," she recalls.

"They also insulted us, called us beasts and said that they should have been killed us at the time, when they opened the door. They beat my husband, but not into his face. They insulted me," says Zarema Gadjieva. "We have a garage in the yard, and there was a car in it. They ordered my husband to open the garage, entered it and forced my husband to the wall. After a while, they came out with a black plastic bag. They told my husband to open the plastic bag, he refused, saying that it was not his bag and he would not leave his fingerprints on it. Then, they began to beat him to force him to admit that it was his bag; however, he did not confess and did not touch anything with his hands."

According to Zarema Gadjieva, masked men took their mobiles phones and told them that they were taking her husband "to the police department." "They also said that he faced at least 15-20 years of imprisonment," she has emphasized.

According to his wife, Albert Guseinov is a believer, he was not a follower of the radical views, and he has never been prosecuted by law enforcement agencies. "I asked them whether my husband was a demolition man. They answered in negative. I asked them whether my husband was connected to forest people. They answered in negative. Then I asked them why they had come. They said that they received the order and that they should obey the order," she said.

The "Caucasian Knot" does not yet have information on the identity of the second resident of the Derbent District, who was detained on February 19. The whereabouts of two detainees are also unknown.
