Ivanishvili presents his coalition in Georgia

On February 21, in Georgia, the billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili presented his political coalition named "Georgian Dream".

Mr Ivanishvili will head the political council of the coalition, which includes four political parties – the "Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia", Republican Party, "Our Georgia – Free Democrats" and "National Forum".

The presentation adopted the founding declaration of the political coalition "Georgian Dream". The declaration reflects the goals and aims of the coalition; and its members are "resolutely committed to achieve them."

"For Georgia, the 2012 parliamentary elections are an important crossroads, since after the elections the country should establish a real multiparty democracy. The elections are a choice between freedom and dictatorship, justice and lawlessness, Euro-Atlantic integration and international isolation," says the document.

The declaration also states the need to end the authoritarian rule in Georgia, to establish a duly balanced model of the real self-government and a multiparty political system and start the process of country's reunification.

The document touched on social issues – to overcome unemployment and poverty, introduction of high-quality and affordable education and health systems, as well as creation of decent life for pensioners.
