In January 2012, "Caucasian Knot" was No. 11 among most quoted Internet resources

By the outcomes of January 2012, the "Caucasian Knot" was among the top thirty most frequently quoted Internet resources in the list of 8000 mass media, which resulted by the study of the independent Russian research company "Medialogy", and took the eleventh place in the ranking.

According to "Medialogy", in the TOP-30 of most frequently cited Internet resources the "Caucasian Knot" went up by two points as compared to December 2011 and is ahead of the websites of the radio station "Echo Moskvy", and newspapers "Kommersant", "Vedomosti", "Izvestia" and "Rossiyskaya Gazeta".

The Citation Index (CI), defined by the "Medialogy", takes into account the number of references to the source in other media and the influence of the source, which has posted the reference; it is a tool for solving problems by press services, and it is used as one of the criteria for evaluating published materials. The value of this index for the "Caucasian Knot" in January was 101.91.

The leading four in the rating are the "Lenta.ru" (CI = 1421.58), "Gazeta.ru" (930.84), "Lifenews.ru" (735.54) and "Vesti.ru" (495.91); the "Newsru.com" (381.81) is in the fifth place.

The most notable progress during the month – by 11 points up – was made by the radio station "Echo Moskvy", because of publishing Boris Berezovsky's letters. Experts of "Medialogy" note that websites of news agencies have been excluded from the rating of Internet resources.
