Sochi authorities agree to provide housing to head of Revenko large family after his employment

The Sochi Mayor Anatoly Pakhomov has offered to provide a two-room flat to the large family Revenko, who are forced to live in a garage at the cemetery after their house was demolished, when a road junction was built. The authorities promise to grant a flat, provided a family member gets employed by the municipal service.

"On January 13, our garage was examined by Galina Menshikova, the head of the social care division of the department of social policy of the Sochi Administration. She asked about our needs, and we once again explained that we need social housing according to social norms," Natalia Revenko told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to Roman Revenko, the head of the family, after Galina Menshikova's visit he was invited by the Mayor Anatoly Pakhomov, who offered him a job at the municipal service.

"The Mayor explained that after I get employed, for example, as an ambulance driver, our family of nine persons will be granted a two-room flat as housing. I objected and explained that it does not suit us, as in the case of my dismissal, we'll lose the flat. And then, we have three different families: my mother's, my sister's and mine. We just would not get into a two-room flat," said Roman Revenko.

He was advised to think over the offer; it was also noted in the course of the conversation that the Sochi authorities could not offer any other options, said the head of the family.

According to Galina Menshikova, the problem of the Revenko family is till being addressed.

However, the members of the large family are unhappy that the flat was offered in exchange for fulfilment of certain conditions.
