Facebook has set up a group demanding to rebury Jaba Ioseliani

In the social network Facebook, a group has been created named "Let's rebury Jaba Ioseliani out of the Pantheon", which already has more than 2100 members.

One of the most influential politicians in Georgia in the early 1990s, Jaba Ioseliani died on November 4, 2003, in Tbilisi. He was buried into the Pantheon of famous public figures of Georgia on Mount Mtatsminda in Tbilisi.

At night on January 6, unidentified persons tried to dig the grave of Jaba Ioseliani. They left sheets of paper with imprints of blood-stained hands and photos of Ioseliani taken in the 1990s.

The administrators of the group are spread a special statement written to the names Nikoloz Rurua, Minister of Culture and Monument Protection, and the Mayor of Tbilisi Giga Ugulava, where the demand to rebury Jaba Ioseliani.

"The fact that his tomb is now in the Didube Pantheon is unacceptable for the Georgian public because of the great physical and moral damage, caused by Ioseliani and his ideological allies to Georgia," the "Georgia-Online" quotes the statement.

One of the founders and administrators of the group is Mikhail Djaparidze, a citizen of Georgia, who has voluntarily confessed that on January 6 he brought photos of Tbilisi war and a piece of paper with an imprint of a bloody hand to the Ioseliani's tomb in the Pantheon. Djaparidze said that these actions were an act of protest against the fact that Jaba Ioseliani's tomb is in Didube Pantheon of writers and public figures, the "News-Georgia" reports.
