MNS reports disclosing conspiracy against foreigners

In Azerbaijan, Rasim Aliev and Ali Guseinov, two citizens of Azerbaijan, who planned murder of foreign public figures in Baku, were arrested. This was reported by the Ministry of National Security (MNS) of Azerbaijan.

According to the Public Relations Centre of the Azerbaijani MNS, from the detained failed terrorists, firearms, military equipment, explosives and explosive devices were seized; and Balagardash Dadashev, the third key participant of the preparing terror acts, was hiding in the city of Ardebil in Iran.

Balagardash Dadashev was put in the wanted list on charges of banditry, kidnapping, and robbery; he collaborates with Iranian intelligence services.

According to the MNS, in August 2011, during a meeting in Ardebil, Balagardash Dadashev promised Rasim Aliev, his brother-in-law, 150,000 US dollars for commitment of a number of terror acts in Azerbaijan. He gave Rasim Aliev 9300 US dollars and photographs of the "ordered" persons and their cars, a schematic map of business premises and living quarters (it is not reported, who exactly those people were, - note of the "Caucasian Knot"). In his turn, Rasim Aliev, to implement the instructions given to him, established a criminal connection with Guseinov, his acquaintance, who had skills in handling firearms.

However, the plan of Aliev and Guseinov has failed: they were arrested as a result of operational actions of the staff members of the MNS. They seized firearm, their parts, ammunition, explosives, and equipment in packages, found in a hiding on the 150th kilometre of the highway Baku-Astara, on the edge of the roadside, passing through the territory of the Bilyasuvar District.
