Two Dagestani, whose relatives reported their kidnapping, were found at police station

In Dagestan, human rights defenders investigate the circumstances of disappearance of two residents of the village of Komsomolskoe of the Kizilyurt District of the republic, who were found at IVS (temporary detention facility). According to witnesses, to whom relatives of the disappeared persons refer, young men were kidnapped by law enforcement agents. The human rights defenders were told at the police station that the young men were detained for violation of public order in state of alcoholic intoxication, policemen also reported on grenades found among the young men's belongings.

Elena Denisenko, the representative of the Human Rights Centre "Memorial", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that on January 10, near the school in the village of Komsomolskoe, unidentified law enforcement agents kidnapped Ramazan Abakarovich Gadjiev, born in 1991, and Djabrail Omarovich Nurulaev, born in 1988. Their relatives informed the human rights defenders about the kidnapping.

In their statement, they have noted that the unidentified men arrived by a white Gazel car. Ramazan Gadjiev and Djabrail Nurulaev stood near the school gym and waited for the end of training in the younger group. The "Gazel" drove up to the young men, law enforcement agents came out of the car, asked: "Are you relaxing, guys?", then tied the hands of the young men, put turn their faces to the "Gazel", then forced them into the car and drove away," the human rights defender stated.

At night of the same day, from 11:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m., the houses of Gadjiev and Nurulaev were searched; however, nothing illegal was found there.

"Policemen told the Nurulaev's parents that two unidentified persons allegedly robbed a store in Kizilyurt and that their son hided the stolen things; however, they searched the house and found nothing. And in the house of Gadjiev, they seized radio schemes, drawn on paper, and batteries," Elena Denisenko told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to her, on the other day, the parents found out, where their children were kept, and they hired a lawyer, who visited the young men. "It turned out, that by pressure and threats they were forced to sign something, and, according to investigators, they were detained with grenades. According to the lawyer, Gadjiev has got a bruise under his eye and a split lip," Elena Denisenko has emphasized.

On January 14, Svetlana Isaeva, member of the Dagestan regional public organization "Mothers of Dagestan for Human Rights", and Sirazhutdin Datsiev, a member of the "Memorial", together with Gasan Aigunov, the head of the Public Monitoring Commission (PMC) in Dagestan, visited the Kizilyurt ROVD (District Interior Division) (where Nurulaev and Gadjiev were kept at the IVS) in the city of Kizilyurt. However, starting from 10:00 a.m. till 03:00 p.m., they were not allowed to enter the division.

The human rights defenders told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that at 03:00 p.m. Aigunov managed to enter the division, where he was told that Gadjiev and Nurulaev were detained for violation of public order in state of alcoholic intoxication. According to the human rights defenders, who quote eyewitnesses, the young men did not drink alcoholic drinks.

At the same time, on January 11, the magistrate sentenced the young men to administrative arrest for a period of five days.

"On the same day, the relatives were told that the waived the independent lawyer hired by them. The relatives fear the use of unlawful methods against the detainees and fabrication of a criminal case against them. On January 14, after the arrival of the human rights defenders and the head of the PMC, the lawyer, hired by the relatives, was allowed to enter the OVD (Interior Division). He confirmed that Nurulaev and Gadjiev had been subjected to pressure and that traces of beating were visible on bodies of the both young men," Elena Denisenko stated.

A source at the Kizilyurt ROVD of Dagestan confirmed to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent the existence of two detainees; however, he reported nothing on the charges and the reasons for detention of Gadjiev and Nurulaev.
