State web-sites of Azerbaijan underwent a mass hacker attack

On January, 16, a number of governmental web-sites in Azerbaijan underwent a mass hacker attack. In particular, web-portals of Head of the state Ilham Aliev, the Ministry of Interior Affairs, the Ministry of Communications and Information technologies, the ruling party "Eni Azerbaijan" and the Constitutional Court were attacked.

Unidentified persons posted a message on the web-portal of President of Azerbaijan blaming Head of the state for too close relations with Israel. There they placed of photo of Aliev shaking hands with President of Israel Shimon Peres.

Hackers also attacked the web-site of the ruling party of Azerbaijan "Eni Azerbaijan". A message was posted there running that hacking was done by a hackers' group AzerianCyberArmy. They also blame the ruling establishment for corruption, "Cursor" web-portal reports.

The portal of "Trend" news agency was attacked, too. According to the administration of the portal, Osman Giunduz, Chairman of Azerbaijani Internet-forum (AIF), said that this hacker attack could be equated with an undeclared cyber war.

  • Court releases Malgobek law enforcers accused of extortion

    Three policemen from Ingushetia, accused of using violence against a detainee and extortion, have been released. The Supreme Court (SC) of Ingushetia has explained that the period specified by law for the preliminary investigation had expired and their further detention is illegal.
