In Kabardino-Balkaria, MIA's district inspector detained on suspicion of murder

In Kabardino-Balkaria, police officers from the Nalchik UVD (Interior Department) detained a 31-year-old district police inspector, suspected of raping and murdering a local female resident.

The district police inspector is suspected of raping and murdering a female resident of Nalchik, born in 1967, whose body was found on January 9 at the intersection of Shogentsukov and Tarchokov Streets. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR).

"Questioning of possible witnesses and significant volume of investigatory actions brought on the traces of a suspect. He was the district police inspector of the Department of the MIA of the Russian Federation of the city of Nalchik," the MIA's website reports.

According to forensic experts, the deceased woman had been strangled and raped before her death, the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to the Republic's MIA.
