A tourist from Astrakhan who got lost found in Elbrus

The rescuers found Alexander Karnaukhov, resident of Astrakhan, who lost his way in Elbrus. The tourist got no injuries.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that in the evening of January, 10, Elbrus search-and-rescue team got a message from a resident of Astrakhan that he lost his way on a slope of Elbrus. According to North-Caucasian regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, Alexander Karnaukhov was supposedly near Pastukhov rocks, at the height of about 4800 meters above-sea level, at that moment.

"He is safe and sound. The rescuers with the resident of Astrakhan are currently going down from the height of 4500 meters above-sea level", "Interfax" quotes Kantemir Davydov, Head of Press service of North-Caucasian regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

The rescuers are preparing to take him down to the settlement of Terskol by cable car, RIA "Novosti" reports.

"They are expected to get to Terskol at approximately 1:00 Moscow time, January, 11", Davydov added.
