A local resident killed in Kabardino-Balkaria by members of power ministries

Yesterday, January, 9, the personnel of law enforcement bodies in Urvan district of Kabardino-Balkaria killed a man who put up armed resistance. This was reported by a representative of Investigative Department of Committee of Inquiry (CI) in Kabardino-Balkaria.

"On Monday, at about 13:10 Moscow time law enforcement officers tried to stop a VAZ-2108 car in Pochtovaya street of the settlement of Stary Cherek but the driver opened fire at them and was killed by return fire", a representative of CI said adding that a gun was impounded from the killed man.

According to the source, none of the enforcement officers was injured. The killed man turned out to be a twenty-five-years-old resident of the settlement of Urvan, KBR, RIA "Novosti" reports.

A criminal case was initiated of the fact according to clauses 317 (infringement on the life of law enforcement personnel) and 222 (illegal arms trafficking) of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation, web-portal "Kabardino-Balkaria. The World and we" reports.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that on the same day another man who put up armed resistance was also killed in Baksan district of Kabardino-Balkaria. According to the Ministry of Interior Affairs in KBR, the killed man was Z. Khashpagov, "active accomplice of paramilitary groups, born in 1974, suspected of attempts at the personnel of law enforcement personnel, including involvement in the murder of lieutenant colonel of police Murat Shagumov".
