Police still keeps four Djioeva's supporters

Elina Marzoeva, the organizer of the unsanctioned peaceful march in Vladikavkaz against arrests of supporters of Alla Djioeva, an ex-presidential candidate of South Ossetia, is still kept at the Zaterechny police department. Three other protesters are still in custody.

On December 30, they protested against arrests of Alla Djioeva's supporters; in total, 27 persons were detained; some of them were almost immediately released.

Ms Marzoeva said that she was accused of organizing the march and disobedience to legal requirements of the police. Apart from her, the police still keeps Dzerassa Khugaeva, the sister of Vladislav Khugaev, one of those arrested, human rights activist Ruslan Magkaev and Alan Lokhov, who was also detained as one of the organizers.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of North Ossetia, Elina Marzoeva was detained on December 30 at 4 p.m. near the bus station, when she tried to leave Vladikavkaz, and taken to the police station as the organizer and infringer of the public order.

"When they write that I wanted to go away by bus, and I was detained in the vicinity of the Arkhon Circle – it's not true. I was opposite the '7th Continent' Store. I never was near the station; I have witnesses ready to confirm it "Near the train station and I was not close. I have witnesses who will confirm," said Elina Marzoeva.
