In Stavropol, prosecutor's office makes canning factory pay over 16 million roubles of wage debts to its workers

The top management of the OJSC (Open Joint-Stock Company) "Stavropolsky Canning factory" did not paid wages to its 232 employees for 1.5 years; the formed arrears amounted to more than 16 million roubles. Only due to interference of the prosecutor's office, at present, wages have been paid in full.

The prosecutor's office of the Lenin District of the city of Stavropol conducted inspection of observance of employees' rights at the factory on appeal of employees themselves. The inspection has revealed that people had not been paid since July 2010 to November 2011, the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Russia reports.

In 2010, the OJSC "Canning factory "Stavropolsky" was announced a bankrupt, and bankruptcy proceedings were introduced.

At the suggestion of the prosecutor's office, the deputy general director was brought to disciplinary responsibility, and the director was fined.

37 complaints amount to 1,032,000 roubles were filed to the court, and they were considered and granted in full. The bankruptcy commissioner Mikhail Belozerov received a warning about in admissibility of violating the law.

As a result of measures taken by the prosecutor's office, wage arrears amounting to more than 16,586,000 roubles were paid in full, the "Yuga.ru" reports.
