Rally within All-Russian protest action against State Duma election violations held in Makhachkala
Yesterday, on December 21, in Rodop Boulevard in Makhachkala, about 500 persons attended a rally, during which they planned to protest against the results of the election to the Russian State Duma and the arrests of civil activists.
Let us remind you that the rally was organized by representatives of the Dagestani Regional Branch of the CPRF (Communist Party of the Russian Federation). All oppositional parties and civil society activists were invited to come to the rally.
The protest rally was attended by smaller number of people than the organizers expected. The protesters carried posters reading: "Forgers to be brought to court", "Fake elections mean rotten power", "Fair elections to Dagestan."
The weather in Rodop Boulevard was cold, piercing wind was blowing, law enforcement officers were freezing in some distance from the rally, and representatives of the authorities ignored the protest action, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
Speakers talked about numerous violations during the elections.
The rally has ended with adoption of resolution and appeal to Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, emphasizing that situation with elections in Russia tends to deteriorate with each passing day, the people are removed from the governance of the country. To find an exit, the appeal suggests Vladimir Putin not to run for the position of the president of Russia.
